Outline
Over the course of two hours you will look at different paper cutting and weaving techniques. At the end of the session you will have an A4 or A3 piece to take home to frame.
Please bring
All materials will be supplied but participants are welcome to bring any resources for their inspiration.

Collaborative Abstract Painting and Drawing

Outline
Participants will explore the theme of Abstract Painting. The session will include the participants observing different aspects of abstract paintings and discussing what they feel and think. They will also make creative responses by exploring mark-making and colour.
Two collaborative drawings will be created on the floor using a large roll of paper, permitting people to work together and draw with large gestures.
At the end a short discussion will take place about the process and the outcomes of the creativity

A sketchbook and/or paper and a mark-making tool (pen, pencil, crayon, marker etc.)

Outline
Using colour, pattern and systems to explore the everyday object of envelopes. The inside design can be a starting point for creating or be the work itself.
Participate in a colour selection exercise using Toni Harrower’s own colour coded alphabet system.
Create a drawing using an envelope design of your choice with pens, pencils, oil pastels or water-based paints.
Please bring
Any inspirational envelopes and any mark-making implements – e.g. pens/crayons. These are optional as the artist will provide a selection of materials.

Outline
Breathe new life into your old ceramics! Find out how to use ceramic decals and transfers to spruce up your favourite pottery.
Please bring
Your old mugs, plates and other ceramic objects – or choose from a selection of second hand finds – and transform them using a combination of found and gathered imagery printed onto special ceramic decals. Kevin will then fire your rejuvenated objects ready for collection from his studio at Deemouth Artists Studios.

Booking and Payment
Please email the AAS at admin@aberdeenartistssociety.co.uk with any queries or to book a place on a course. Applicants will be sent the AAS bank account details to which payment must be made by direct bank transfer. Payment must be received earlier than 2 days before the workshop date – any non-receipt by this time will allow the AAS to reallocate the booking to someone on a waiting list.
Health and Safety
Current Covid-19 prevention rules must be followed – including hand sanitising and the wearing of masks in an indoor setting. No smoking or consumption of alcohol is allowed on the premises. Kitchen and toilet facilities are available.
Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. (There is a sitting area available on the floor below the studio.)
Cancellation
If you are unable to attend for any reason, please advise the AAS at admin@aberdeenartistssociety.co.uk as quickly as possible. The AAS may be able to reallocate the place and refund the fee. If the workshop is cancelled by the AAS, the applicants will be advised as quickly as possible and the full cost of the workshop will be refunded immediately on the receipt of the applicants’ bank details.
