Parallel Programme of Interactive Events
at Aberdeen Artists Society Open Exhibition 2022
Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums team will run a Parallel Programme of events during the course of the Aberdeen Artists Society Exhibition, 16th April – 3rd July 2022. This Open Exhibition will be accepting works from all areas of the creative, visual arts.
During this time the Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums events team has asked Aberdeen Artists Society to host ‘Spotlight’ tours, which will be conducted on Saturdays, starting at 2pm and lasting for around 20 mins.
So far we have four volunteers willing to host these tours. If you are a member of the Aberdeen Artists Society and would like to be involved in this project, whether or not you have work in the exhibition, we would be delighted to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to meet the viewing public and to share knowledge and opinions about the works on show, as well as to provide a means of strengthening your connection with Aberdeen Art Gallery. The Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums learning team will be supporting this initiative.
This is also a call for artists to submit proposals for an interactive weekend at Aberdeen Art Gallery (possibly the 11th – 12th June – dates to be confirmed.) Some of the possibilities are: Meet The Artist, Taster Work Sessions, Creative Workshop, Artists Talk. If you would like to put forward a proposal to be considered for this we would very much like to hear from you as soon as possible, with a brief outline of what you feel you can contribute to the events. The Aberdeen Art Gallery learning team will again be supporting these activities throughout the interactive weekend.
