Myrtle Watt spent a great 4 years at Gray’s School of Art, 

Robert Gordon’s University, Aberdeen.   Graduated  1979.

She opened a gallery and studio in Kincardine O’Neil, oldest village on Deeside for the next 15 years.   Exhibited over many years in numerous venues, Aberdeen art gallery, Gray’s graduates, Milton Art gallery and artaboyne. Many works in private collections.

Myrtle when a child could always be found drawing, painting and being creative. On becoming an adult she was told by her father that she would have a more secure financial future as a pharmacist, which was a great job for a woman!! From University she graduated and worked as a pharmacist for some years. Finally deciding in a career change and was accepted at Gray’s School of Art

Aberdeen Artists Society invites artists and makers to apply for inclusion in our annual members exhibition. Hosted by the Milton of Crathes Gallery, Aberdeenshire as in previous years.

Artists are invited to submit up to TWO works which may be in a variety of media: painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, textile and photography for a selected exhibition. See full terms and conditions for application details.

In addition, up to 2 unframed works to be displayed in browsers will be accepted. See full terms and conditions for further detail.

In agreement with the gallery, we ask that all 2D works do not exceed 50cm in any dimension.

Please note that this exhibition is only open to UK members of the Society who hold valid membership (per the membership database) on the entry deadline 22 August 2026, work by entrants not satisfying this criterion will be rejected.
